I was delighted to see Derval O’Rourke pick up a silver medal in the 100m Hurdles at the European Championships Friday night.

The World Indoor 60m Hurdle Champion from Cork also smashed the Irish record by finishing in 12.72 seconds.

She said afterwards ‘I went out to win it and that was all I could do and to get a silver medal is the greatest thrill of my life.
